Q LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS OVERVIEW Blood is a fluid type of connective tissue that functions to carry nutrients, oxygen, wastes, and hormones throughout the body while helping your immune system and forming clots to prevent excessive bleeding. Blood is necessary for our physical life to continue and is also necessary for our eternal life. The Bible explains life blood had to be spilled in order that sin be expiated (covered). This means that sin had to be dealt with, or “paid for” (atoned), by the sacrifice of life; for someone to live, something must die. According to Leviticus 17:11, life is in the blood. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul,” (Leviticus 17:11 KJ). INSTRUCTIONS • Explain how life is in the blood by using at least 5 biological key terms such as plasma, platelets, erythrocytes, and leukocytes as well as the composition of blood from figure 10.9 of your text. • Also explain how blood has been made an atonement for the soul according to Leviticus 17:11.
